Becoming a Story-First Creative

For years, I thought being a “creative” meant you had to lead with visuals. But the more I grew, the more I realized I’m a storyteller first.

As a brand designer and writer, I’ve spent the last decade helping others shape their identities through logos, tone of voice, websites, and campaigns. But it wasn’t until I started freelancing that I fully understood how much narrative matters. Clients didn’t just want a look; they wanted to be understood. They wanted to say something real and be remembered for it.

That’s when I began integrating storytelling into everything I design. Every headline, every layout, every color choice is intentional. Strategic. Rooted in meaning. It’s not about being clever. It’s about being clear, human, and true to the voice behind the brand.

This shift changed the way I work. More importantly, it changed the way I listen. Now, I ask better questions. I dive deeper. I don’t just design stories. I help bring them to life.
