High School
This High School needed a modern, informative Marketing site that spoke directly to prospective families, current students, and community stakeholders. The goal was to elevate the school’s digital presence with a layout that felt both dynamic and easy to navigate. The challenge was creating a content-rich experience that highlighted key strengths, built trust, and encouraged action without overwhelming the user.
My Role:
I led the visual design and layout strategy for the homepage. This included user flow mapping, wireframing, high-fidelity design mockups, brand-aligned color selection, content structure, and imagery direction. I also collaborated with the content team to ensure copy was both informative and inviting.
Process:
We began with a content audit and competitor review to understand what users expect from a high school site and where we could go beyond that. I prioritized hierarchy, using large visual modules to guide attention through key sections like “Think Differently,” “5 Key Strengths,” and the CTA blocks at the bottom. Custom icons, student photography, and high-contrast call-to-action buttons were incorporated to ensure accessibility and engagement across devices.

Captions such as “Firebirds Soar” and “Think Differently About What’s Possible” were used as brand-forward messaging to inspire pride and community connection.
Results or Reflection:
The new homepage presents Fairmont High School as forward-thinking, inclusive, and student-centered. The client appreciated how the design balanced institutional professionalism with warmth and personality. It has since served as a strong foundation for additional site updates and brand messaging. This project reinforced the importance of storytelling through structure proving that design can guide both emotion and action.
